Strange Fruit Records label discography

John Peel's label set up in the 80s in association with Clive Selwood and the BBC for releasing Peel sessions. Releases first started in 1986 with 12" EPs and cassettes, and continued throughout 1987 and 1988 at the rate of about one session per week, with CDs being added too. 1989 onwards saw artists with multiple sessions of high quality having their work being released as LPs and full length CDs.

We are primarily concerned with listing the intital batch of classic 12" SFPS releases, of which there were 89. Numbers 1 to 32 came in indentically-designed textured sliver and black sleeves with white borders and top edges. 33 to 54 came in textured gold and black sleeves with gold borders and top edges, and 55 to 73 came in glossy silver and black covers with silver borders and top edges. After that the designs changed regularly with more colourful picture sleeve releases being included.
